DAVKA SOFTWARE CLOSING FULL

In my case, I have the m1 since December 2020 and I can't wait to finally use my machine at full potential and I think many users fell the same. Unfortunately if I understand well starting from Cubase 12, vst2 is not supported anymore in the native M1 version so that gives Cubase users with M1 2 options: use cubase under rosetta to use serum or …use cubase native without serum. Fortunately for most users other than Steinberg users, VST2 support should be around for a long time. It really is a bizarre situation to remove something time-tested and working, VST3 offers no clear technical benefit (the touted user-facing improvements such as sample-accurate automation are not even implemented in virtually all VST3 plugins, and could have been extended to VST2). Eveything else is being actively worked on, but there is a good window of time ahead, stability is of course important and Steinberg will probably honor the 24 months ahead before dropping VST2 from their products. I'm not sure about Cthulhu, due to VST3 lacking proper MIDI out handling. It should be well before Steinberg pulls the plug on VST2 in their software.

There should be updates in the future, I've said as much.
